04 Mar 5 Reasons Video Marketing Is Key – Video Series – Part 2
1. ‘Information is Power’
97% of marketers claim that videos help customers understand products. (Hubspot)
It has been said that ‘getting information off the Internet is like taking a drink from a fire hydrant’. So it stands to reason that consumers and businesses are not spending a lot of time (if at all) to research, compare and deduce the ideal product or service….there’s simply too much choice out there! Instead, they’re doing a quick search to find the best product in their area or even in the world and they’ll proceed to order it online.
Therefore, most online marketers have moved from a ‘pitching or selling’ approach and have moved to a WIFM or ‘value-based’ offer. This is why videos are the best medium to give customers that up-close look at the product/service in a short amount of attention span.
2. Boost Your SEO Ranking
Over 80% of all traffic will consist of video by 2021. (Cisco)
Search engines love videos because they see them as high-quality content, so using videos in various types of content as well as on your main web pages can work wonders for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO). It’s not enough though to use your new iPhone & post something online, the videos themselves need to be optimized properly as well with the right keywords, a solid meta description and strong title.
3. Keeping Up With The Joneses
81% of businesses are now using video for marketing. (Hubspot)
If you haven’t already jumped on the VIDEO bandwagon, then you’re already likely behind your competitors. Videos are amazing tools for quickly & effectively showing your product or service, explaining installation or repairs, profiling client testimonials, or giving viewers a ‘behind the scenes’ look at your company & staff.
By using storytelling and unique types of media, you can easily catch (and hold) people’s attention while they’re actually entertained. If you don’t like to appear on camera, you can use an animated or illustrated explainer video to stand out from the crowd.
4. Maximizing Your Social Media Channels
Live video will account for 13% of traffic by 2021. (Cisco)
Most of the ‘hot’ social media channels now are encouraging short ‘video bites’ so you’ll need to learn how to create basic videos and optimize them.
Instagram Stories and Snapchat are both great for giving those short, more personal glances of what you’re up to and they offer lots of creative tools to enhance them (music, graphics, etc.). Plus these videos are only up for 24 hours, creating more of a time-sensitive feel – ideal for promotions, flash sales or contests.
Other longer video options such as Facebook Live or YouTube allow a more scripted presentation and will stay up on your site. You can also interact with your followers, allowing them to ask questions or make comments.
Any/all of these video options will boost your social media, building brand trust and offering audiences a more casual, entertaining way to know you & your business.
5. ‘Show Me The Money’
90% of consumers claim a video will help them make a purchasing decision. (Social Media Today)
Videos are one of the best ways to not only attract potential customers but they actually keep people around longer to look around your site, increasing that online sale. We can all suffer from screen fatigue so videos save people from having to read all of the key information. They also internalize the information by watching AND listening to it when it’s in video format.
Wyzowl claims that 74% of people who get an opportunity to see a product in action via an explainer video will buy it. Placing videos on your website’s landing pages is a great place to attract viewers’ attention and keep them wanting more!
